We’ve been a little behind on our postings because this week has been c-razy! My head is still spinning. In addition to the adoption stuff, we’ve also been trying to get our house cleaned, staged, repaired, and in “model” condition to put it on the market. Last weekend we did an overhaul of the basement, which involved a lot of packing, some painting, and moving my entire craft room (which is now a lovely traditional library). It’s been non-stop all week and ended with me practically pulling an all-nighter, then cleaning all day until our photographer arrived this afternoon to do our virtual tour.

I have to admit that for all my complaining about the Greeley “old boys’ club” and Realtors in general, we ended up signing up with two local real estate teams from the same office (so we actually have 5 Realtors — a little odd, but we wanted it all). We’ve been pleasantly surprised with them so far. They were willing to co-list our house (hence, the reason we have 5 Realtors), our main contact has been really responsive, they were willing to accommodate our needs and write them into the contract (no “promises” that aren’t in writing), and the kicker — we already had our first showing and our house isn’t even “on the market” yet (no sign, no MLS listing, no ads). I think that’s a good start…
