When I expressed concern about the cost of adoption early on in this process, a friend of mine, who is a great woman of faith, assured me that the money would “come when it was needed.” Yeah…uh huh. I was skeptical. She didn’t know my situation.

Well, I was wrong. I didn’t think it could happen, but I gave it a shot. I’m a pretty independent person, but I went ahead and I asked (gulp) for help. It wasn’t easy, but it has been oh-so-worth it. And not for the obvious material benefit, but because this process is teaching me a really important life lesson: how to have faith in those I love the most, and people in general. That, folks, is an awesome gift.

On the blessings front, we got an awesome surprise the other day: our second Paypal donation (thanks, E, you rock, cuz!). About the same time, I received a custom order from a kind patron of my stamping blog, sold some gently used stamps and craft supplies (to more folks I don’t personally know), and a nonprofit contacted me about writing another grant application.

So, I might be burning the candle at both ends these days, but there’s a light shining pretty brightly in our lives. Thank you, again, for helping me to learn how to be humble and to trust in the kind-spirited nature of the human soul.
