No news on the adoption front. We’re still sitting on pins and needles. It’s a good thing, then, that I had the BEST distraction today. I got to babysit the happiest kid on the planet.
Lucy is almost 5 months old and an absolute blast! I’ve never, ever, met a baby who smiles and laughs so much. She even snorts if she gets really excited!

Lucy and I had planned a pretty kick-back day. We had to leave for one house showing, but otherwise, she was going to help me do some work (or at least sleep while I was working). But, the house showing took longer than expected (a really good sign), and the same people came back a couple of hours later (another really good sign), so we got booted out with almost no warning. Of course, then Lucy napped in the car and wanted to play when we got back! So I gave in, and we had a good ol’ time. She even let me take her picture and entertained herself long enough for me to write this post.
Dan and I were joking the other night that wouldn’t it be something if we got an offer on the house and a baby at the same time! Hmmm…what is that old saying? Be careful what you wish for. I think I’ll throw caution to the wind. I’m wishing like crazy!

Caution to the wind, fur shur!
As mom to two adopted from Cambodia, I know the wait … torture, pain, frustration, worry, and the other three killer dwarfs from “If Snow White Had Been an Adoptive Parent”. Wishing for all hell to break out with moving and travel and probably an inconvenient cold just to top it all off is very tempting. Hope it works!
Lucy’s a doll, but I have to say that I think my Cj gets the “Happiest Baby” award. She’d be happy to share, though.

[...] A friend of mine watched Lucy a few days ago and had a blast with her… They had a fun day together, and evidently Lucy was a nice distraction AND PRACTICE for a day (Check out these adorable pictures!) [...]
